The cuisine of Palmas is peculiar, with exotic tastes, due to its proximity from amazonic and northest regions, and provide an unique combination!

Some dishes are famous in the capital, like galinhada com pequi (rice with chicken and seeds of pequi, that is a fruit of the region), tucunaré assado (roast fish) and paçoca de carne seca com farinha de mandioca (a dish made with meat and flour), including dishes with guarana (a brazilian fruit) due to influence of the neighbor state of Pará.
